“Fashion Hound”: Models and Dogs Strut Their Stuff on the Catwalk
The merchants of the Mt. Washington Mill pay tribute to man’s best friend
Baltimore, MD — The merchants of Mt. Washington Mill are doggone pleased to host “Fashion Hound,” a fun-filled fashion event, on Saturday, May 22 from 10 A.M. to 3 P.M. Taking place in the historic Mt. Washington Mill, the dog-themed festivities will pay tribute to man’s best friend while raising awareness for local animal shelter B.A.R.C.S.
Starting at 10 A.M. in the Mt. Washington Mill courtyard, Whole Foods Market will hold a B.AR.C.S. Pet Adoption Day for rescued animals. Whole Foods Market will be grilling and selling hot dogs as a fundraiser for B.A.R.C.S from 11 A.M. to 3 P.M.
The fashion show will begin at 12 P.M. in the courtyard of the Mt. Washington Mill between Whole Foods and Holly G Boutique. Local models will flaunt the latest spring and summer women’s fashions from Holly G Boutique. Joining them on the catwalk will be four-legged friends dressed in dog clothes and collars from dogma – life, with your pet.
“We wanted to host a fashion event that people of all ages could enjoy,” says Karmen Fox, Holly G Boutique manager. “What better way than to include dogs on the runway?”
After the fashion show, Mt. Washington Wine Company will hold a wine tasting featuring critters on the labels from 12 P.M. to 3 P.M. Also during this time, Deb Gore Dean, owner of home furnishing store Gore Dean, will offer advice on table settings and home fashions.
From 1 P.M. to 3 P.M., dogma – life, with your pet will feature a book signing of local author Michael Paul’s book “The Adventures of Tiller and Turnbuckle,” the whimsical tale of a dachshund dog and calico cat.
Participating Mt. Washington Mill stores will auction gift baskets to benefit B.A.R.C.S. The winners of the raffle prizes will be announced at 1 P.M.
